The Best Mavic Air Slow Motion | 4K, 2K & 1080p Comparison
"What are the best Mavic Air slow motion settings?" is a question I see being asked a lot online, but no one has been showing footage or images saying what is the best quality / resolution / frame rate for your needs. I decided to go to three different locations and film under exposed, over exposed and properly exposed 4k30, 2k60 and 1080p120 footage and scale/compare each of these resolutions to each other.
This is an ongoing comparison, but I will update this as more videos come out!
Up first, is the introduction - a video about the details of the test itself.
Mavic Air Slow Motion | 4K Timeline
In this video, we're taking a look at the Mavic Air footage shot in 4K 30fps, 2K 60fps and 1080p 120fps in the 4K timeline. The 4K was obviously in real time, looked good, but not the point of this test. The upscaled 2K footage gave a great blend of slow motion and good quality. The 1080p 120 gave a great slow motion effect, but upscaled to the 4K timeline, the footage was very soft. The 1080 footage had a lot of noise in the shadows already and upscaling really brought out the imperfections in the footage.
The best blend of slow motion and image quality here goes to the upscaled 2K 60fps footage.
