Mavic Air & Mavic 2: How to Transfer Photos and Video to Phone or Computer. Internal and SD Card

After you are finished filming or shooting photos on the Mavic Air, there are few different ways to pull the footage/photos from the drone to your computer or phone. The Mavic Air has both internal and removable micro SD card storage and there are a few different ways of getting the footage from the drone, so let's go over each way to get footage from your drone to your computer or device.
Mobile Device & DJI GO 4 App
In the DJI GO 4 app, turn on the drone and press the play button in the bottom right hand side of the screen to view all of the photos and videos on your SD card and internal storage.
I didn't have my app running for this screen shot, but you will have to have your Mavic Air on to connect and transfer your photos to your device.
Computer & SD Card or USB-C Cable
For the on-board 8gb of memory, you'll have to use the USB-C cable included with your Mavic Air. The USB-C port is under the door on the back of the drone between the propellers. To use the Micro SD card, you can use a SD Card reader.
Using a computer and SD card reader is my preferred way to transfer and edit my photos and videos. Using a card reader or micro SD to SD card adapter and the SD card slot on my MacBook Pro, the SD card will show as an external hard drive and you'll be able to open it and get your images off.
On a mac, you'll be able to click on the SD card from your desktop or use Image Capture (my personal favorite) as every mac comes with this and makes asset management from your cards a little easier.
On windows, the disk will show up in your list of disks in My Computer. From here you can drag the photos and videos to a folder on your computer or you can open your favorite photo editing app and edit them like any other photos from a digital camera.
Conclusion
Hope this helped you guys! I know transferring footage and video from the Mavic Air can be an obvious but confusing part of the process for the first time and accessing the 8GB of onboard storage can be confusing since the USB-C port is hidden away under a door. Which is a good thing to keep the dust out of it while in use!
