The RYZE Tello drone is a small and fun entry point for a lot of people kicking the tires about drones and getting familiar with them. But as a person who is really into drones, I also love this tiny drone for flying around my house indoors - just zipping around going between furniture and doing flips with it is seriously fun. It was even more fun after I connected my bluetooth controller!
The Tello drone allows you to control it with an apple compatible game controller - which I happen to have thanks to my passion for Geometry Wars. Setting a game controller up with the RYZE Tello is really easy. I'm using a SteelSeries Nimbus, but if you're on a budget - you could try the SteelSeries Stratus. The nimbus works with iOS and Apple TV, while the stratus works with iOS devices.
First, download the Tello app from the app store.
You may need to install the helper app specific to your controller, I had to download the "Nimbus" app. It was free.
To do this, turn on the tello, open your system preferences, wifi and select the wifi network that starts with "Tello-xxxx".
Here are the Tello controller settings:
Take off / Land: R2 + Y
Take Photo: R1
Record Video: L1
Flip Forward: L2 + D Pad Up
Flip Backward: L2 + D Pad Down
Flip Left: L2 + D Pad Left
Flip Right: L2 + D Pad Right

Have fun flying! It's much easier than the on-screen touch controls and really unlocks more precision living room furniture maneuverability and flip capability!
