DJI Cache Full Error, What It Means & Settings Tutorial | Spark, Mavic, Phantom

If you’ve ever been flying and come across the Cache Space Full during video shooting error, you’re not the only one. It’s a pretty common error and it often goes unnoticed because it pops up whenever you start filming in the air. It’s easy to see it and forget about it since it’s not affecting your flight at that time.
It has to do with the cache on your device running the DJI GO 4 app, and it means the allocated space that you have given the app has filled up. The cache on the DJI GO 4 app has storage that stores low resolution version of your photos and videos from your flights. This is kind of cool, but since they are low resolution version of the footage you already have it can be kind of annoying to some people that the app is just taking up more space on their phone.
Accessing the Stored Cache of Photos & Videos
To access the cached media, open the DJI GO 4 app and click on “Editor” at the bottom. Here you can click on “Albums” and here is your cache. You can export them or watch them as you please.
DJI GO Delete Cache, Mavic, Spark & Phantom
To access your storage menu in the DJI Go 4 app, click on the settings three dots, under "General Settings" you can see the video cache settings. You can select to "Clear Video Cache" here and free up a lot more space on your device.
If you're look at your phone storage and wondering why the dji go 4 app is taking up so much space, it's because you have a large cache file in your settings and you should delete it, or disable it altogether if you're not using it. Follow the instructions above and get more valuable space back on your phone/tablet!
How to Automatically Delete DJI GO Cache
If you like to have the cache of your footage on your device but don't want to see this error all the time, automatically clearing the cache could be a great option for you. In the DJI GO 4 app, Settings, General Settings (three dots) you can toggle the switch to automatically erase the cache as it fills up. Very handy to only keep the most up to date footage.
How to Disable DJI Cache
If you'd rather not have the cache enables at all on the DJI GO 4 App, you can do so by going to settings, general settings, and toggling the first switch to disable the cache. Just know that now you'll never have the low resolution shots available in your Editor in the app. That may not be a big deal to you though.
How to Increase DJI GO Cache Size
If you want to have more low resolution cache files around, you can increase the cache size of on the DJI GO 4 app by going to the general settings and selecting either 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or Auto.
DJI Record Audio Cache to Device
If you're wondering if checking this will record audio from the drone (I was!), sorry to disappoint you - but it wont. This option will only record audio from the device that is running the DJI GO 4 app. If you'd like to record audio though, you can turn this on by going to the Settings, General Settings at the bottom, and toggling this option on. Great for narration. Or talking to yourself.
